He consults with patients from the Eastwood community and surrounding areas.
Dr Khannah is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), which is the official qualifying credential for specialist eye surgeons in Australia. To best support the diverse Eastwood community, he conducts consultations in both English and Hindi.
While Dr Khannah provides comprehensive management across general eye health, his primary clinical focus is advanced cataract surgery and vision correction.
He uses a meticulous, technology-driven approach with a focus on safety and precision for every patient. His practice focuses on:
Performing modern micro-incision cataract removal (phacoemulsification) tailored precisely to the unique anatomy of your eye.
Carefully matching and selecting the latest advanced replacement lenses to help you achieve your personal vision goals and reduce your reliance on glasses.
Integrating advanced surgical planning to correct pre-existing astigmatism during your procedure.
Utilising modern optical biometry and high-resolution OCT retinal imaging, to create a highly accurate map of your eye health.
Dr Khannah's commitment to patient care is reflected in his long-standing leadership within the local medical community.
In 2002, recognising the need for a specialised environment for eye patients, Dr Khannah was the primary driving force behind the establishment of the Epping Surgery Centre. Working alongside fellow ophthalmic surgeons, he helped establish this day surgery to provide local patients with access to highly specialised eye-care nursing staff and advanced surgical facilities. Today, he continues to guide its high clinical standards as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee.
He has practised vision correction across Australasia for many years. Practising laser vision correction (including LASIK and PRK) since 1999, he was an early adopter of the SMILE laser procedure.
Dr Khannah's training and his ongoing contributions to medical education are set out below.
After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1988, he completed his specialist ophthalmology training at Sydney Eye Hospital, where he served as Senior Professional Registrar and was later appointed as a Specialist Ophthalmologist.
He shares his decades of experience with the next generation of doctors as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Macquarie University and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
Dr Khannah has presented his clinical research at major national and international conferences, and his work is published in peer-reviewed international medical journals. He remains actively involved in clinical trials exploring the latest advancements in cataract technology.

At our Eastwood rooms, Dr Khannah provides thorough diagnostic assessments and ongoing care for a wide range of general eye conditions:
Using advanced techniques to remove growths on the eye surface and minimise the chance of recurrence.
Providing comprehensive testing and Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) to safely protect your sight.
Regular monitoring and review for conditions like Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
A cataract is a natural, gradual clouding of the eye's lens that can make your vision feel blurry, dull, or faded over time. During a routine day-surgery procedure, this cloudy lens is gently removed and replaced with a clear, permanent artificial lens (IOL).
